Refreshed icons, typography, and components to feel cleaner and modern — without losing the friendly personality that makes Nextdoor feel like a neighborhood.
Before (Blocks 2.0)
After (Blocks 3.0)
Designed a cohesive system where icons integrate naturally with typography, creating a unified visual language that feels distinctly Nextdoor.
Designed as a set of connectable pieces, the modular illustration system can be combined into collages and brought to life with subtle animations for added delight.
The icon system evolved significantly between Blocks 2.0 and Blocks 3.0. The refresh introduced a cleaner stroke style, refined grid proportions, and a more expressive visual language — building on the existing library while aligning with Nextdoor's updated brand direction and raising the bar for consistency across iOS, Android, and web.

Led a hackathon team of designers and engineers to bring Nextdoor's emoji reaction system to life with Lottie animation. I designed the full set of reaction icons, then coordinated the team to divide and animate each one — keeping the work cohesive, on-brand, and production-ready across iOS and Android.
